Most of our readers have been involved in fenders benders before. But, unfortunately, we all know from daily news reports that much more serious car accidents occur quite frequently in the Minneapolis area. One recent report from the local area provided a few details about a truck accident that left a teenage driver dead at the scene.

According to the report, the fatal auto accident occurred on April 13 at approximately 6 a.m. It was a head-on collision. The report indicates that the semi-truck that was involved in the wreck crossed the centerline of Highway 210. The semi-truck was driven by a 34-year-old man. When he crossed the centerline he struck a Chevrolet Impala driven by a 16-year-old student from Henning Secondary School. It appears that the teenage driver died in the resulting impact.

The report indicates that the Minnesota State Patrol was actively conducting an accident investigation in the immediate aftermath of this fatal car accident. It appears that the driver of the semi-truck suffered injuries in the head-on collision as well, but his injuries were described as non-life threatening.

Although there aren’t any details in the report about the potential cause of the accident, when a vehicle crosses the centerline, there are several factors that are surely being investigated, included the possibility of drunk driving or distracted driving. If fault can be attributed to the semi-truck driver, it may be possible for the family of the teenage victim to recover compensation in a personal injury lawsuit filed in a Minnesota civil court.
